ASACARS v3 available!

The new year is still to come for some of us, and yet, it's time to announce the first of a number of changes we're going to see this year.

A couple of months ago, Robert Liska volunteered to write ASACARS new from scratch. Since then, a lot of work has been put into the new version and many test flights have been completed. Today, it's time for the public release.

Some of the features I'd like to mention are:

  • automatic check for new software version
  • automatic check/download/install for schedule updates
  • automatic logbook (XML format)
  • automatic route logbook for use with Google Earth
  • display current position in Google Earth (locally or on remote PC)
  • display of status messages in FS
  • time acceleration 2x for cat A/B and 4x for cat C flights
ASACARS v3 can be downloaded from the flight schedules page.

My special thanks go to Robert Liska for the hard work he put into writing this software and also to the whole management team of Atlantic Sun Airways and to our beta test pilots Daniel Gecker, Florian Meiler and Michael Struve for their input and time spent on test flights.
